You can find a Product Search box right above the "EYE-dea" Shop Banner across the middle of your screen. Type in one or more keywords, for example, “magnifier” or “Braille,” or the name of a product’s manufacturer, such as “Eschenbach” or “Optelec.” You may also type in an item number if you know it. Partial item numbers work as well. Our products are organized into Product Lines, each of which begins with its own 3 digit number. An example of a product line is Eyewear. The item numbers of all products listed under a given Product Line begin with that product line’s 3 digit number. For example, all magnifiers begin with 002. By typing 002 in the Product Search box, our search engine will produce a list of all magnifiers we carry online. The more keywords you use, the more specific, and/or limited, your search will be. If your search yields no response, try fewer keywords. Try different keywords or different spelling. Try singular versus plural words. Still need help? Browse through and shop our Product Lines which are listed down the left side of your screen. We have 29 different Product Lines, each of which are subdivided into categories such as Low Vision, Braille and Talking, manufacturer as in the case of CCTVs or type such as hand-held, illuminated or pocket as in the case of magnifiers. If you don’t have a specific item in mind, but you do have a specific need, this is a great way to find the right product. Clicking on the Product Line, category or subcategory listed down the left side will reveal corresponding thumbnails and individual items within that product line across the middle of your screen. You may also browse and shop by clicking on one of these thumbnails. The small images, or thumbnails, represent our product lines using images. You may navigate the online store by clicking on any thumbnail image to reveal categories, subcategories and individual items. Still need help? Clicking on “View” at the end of each item’s description gives you a larger image of that item. These are often very useful images as they show the item in greater detail.
Clicking on “Add to Cart” allows you to add the item displayed to your cart. The default is always set to 1. If you would like more than one of that item added to your cart, just click and highlight the 1, and type in your desired quantity. You have additional opportunities to edit your quantities before completing your purchase when you review your shopping cart at checkout (click on the “Check Out” link located in the menu above the middle of your screen). In addition, at any time during your online shopping, you may review the items in your cart by clicking on the “My Shopping Cart” link in the menu above the middle of your screen. This allows you to view your shopping cart, edit the quantities of each item, continue shopping or check out. Still need help? You do not need to create an account to start shopping, but to complete your purchase and check out, you must have an account with us. Before shopping, you may either access your account information by clicking on “Preferred Customer Log In” located in the menu above the middle of your screen, or create a new one by clicking on “Become a Preferred Customer” located in the same menu. It’s simple and it’s free. You may also create an account when you have finished shopping by clicking on the “Check Out” link located in the menu above the middle of your screen. A Log In page opens allowing you to log in if you already have an account with us, or below that, create an account. If you do not have an account at this time, you must complete the required fields including name, address, phone and email address, and check the box by “I would like to create a Sight Center EYE-dea account.”
We ask for your email address, because it is unique, easy to remember and the best way to distinguish your information from other shoppers. Also, we need to contact you should you choose to pay by check or money order. We also ask you for your shipping and billing addresses, both of which are required in order for us to ship your order to you, as well as for online security purposes as specified by Merchant Services. Once you’ve entered that information and your password, you will be forwarded to your account. For convenience, your shipping and billing information are retained in your account for future purchases. Still need help? When creating a password, please choose something that is easy to remember, yet difficult for someone else to guess. Do not use something like your name (in whole or in part), your birthday or another easily guessed password. Mixing letters with numbers is recommended. Select “Preferred Customer Log In” located in the menu that appears above the middle of your screen and you will be taken to the Log In page. If you do not have an account with us, you may create one by clicking on the “become a member” link located below the “Log In” button. Enter your e-mail address and password and click on the “Log In” button. If you forgot your password, use the “have it emailed to you” link below the “Log In” button to have your password emailed to you. You may also simply begin shopping, and when ready to check out, you will have another opportunity to log in as a preferred customer, or create an account at that time. You will be unable to complete your purchase unless you have logged in or created an account.

If you need to revise any information in your account, once you have logged in, click on “My Account” located in the menu above the middle of your screen and make the necessary updates. If you forgot your password, click on “Preferred Customer Log In” in the menu that appears over the middle of your screen. Below the “Log In” button, you may click on the “have it emailed to you” link. On the next page that appears, you will be asked for your email address. Simply enter email address that you used to register, and then click on the “Send my Information” button. Your password will be emailed to you. Once you are able to access your account and log in, it might be a good idea to click on the “My Account” link in the menu above the middle of your screen and update or change your password to something you can remember more easily. Note: If you receive an error message indicating that your email address does not exist in our database, you may want to try your old email address or simply create a new account. Still need help? When you find an item you wish to purchase, simply select “Add to Cart”. By default, one unit of the selected product will be added to your cart. If you wish to buy more than one unit, click and highlight the 1, and change the quantity by typing in the desired value. Then click on “Add to Cart.” You may also edit the quantity of each item ordered at any time while shopping by clicking on the “My Shopping Cart” link located in the menu above the middle of your screen and changing the quantity in the quantity box. To continue with your shopping, click on the “Continue Shopping” button located below your shopping cart list, or simply use the Product Lines links located down the left side of your screen to view more items and continue shopping. You can view the contents of your shopping cart at any time by clicking on the “My Shopping Cart” link located in the menu above the middle of your screen. Still need help? To change your order, click on the “My Shopping Cart” link in the menu above the middle of your screen. To change quantities, place your cursor over the incorrect quantity; highlight and delete, then type in the correct quantity you desire. Then click on the “Update Quantities” button below your shopping cart list. At this time you can continue to shop by clicking on the “Continue Shopping” button located below your shopping cart list, or simply use the Product Lines links located down the left side of your screen to view more items and continue shopping.
To delete an item from your cart, change the number in the quantity box to 0, and click on the “Update Quantities” button below your shopping cart list. Your shopping cart will no longer carry that item. To check out, simply click the “Check Out” link in the menu above the middle of your screen or click the “Check Out” button below your shopping cart list. Still need help? Prior to checking out, we encourage customers to take a moment to review our Shipping & Handling Policy. Click on the “Shipping & Handling Policy” link located in the menu above the middle of your screen. This will furnish you with all the information you need regarding purchasing and returning items, hours of operation, and contact information should you need further assistance with placing your order online.
To finish shopping and check out, you may click on the “Check Out” link located in the menu above the middle of your screen after you have selected your final product. You will then automatically be brought to your shopping cart. Here you can edit and update your quantities, remove items from your shopping cart by changing the quantity to 0 and clicking on the “Update Quantities” button below your shopping cart list, or continue shopping by either clicking on the “Continue Shopping” button below your shopping cart list or clicking on the Product Lines link located on the left side of your screen. If your shopping cart is as you would like it, you can check out by clicking the “Check Out” button below. If you decide not to check out while browsing and you have logged in, you may simply click on the “Log Out” link located in the menu above the middle of your screen.
Once you are ready to purchase the items in your Shopping Cart, either click on the “Check Out” link located in the menu above the middle of your screen, or click the “Check Out” button below your shopping cart list. You will be brought to the Billing Information page. If you already have an account with us, the fields will already be filled in. Take a moment to review the information and validate its accuracy. You are responsible for the information you have entered.
Your Billing Information must match the address at which you receive the bill or statement for the credit card you are using to make your purchase. This is a requirement set forth by Merchant Services for Visa, Mastercard and Discover. Still need help? You have two options for method of payment: 1) check or money order or 2) credit card. Select your method of payment and click the “Continue to the Next Step” button below.
If you choose to pay by check or money order, you will receive an email with instructions on how to remit your payment. To complete your order, simply click on the “Complete Check Out” button below, and you will be brought to a Thank You screen. A receipt will automatically be emailed to you.
If you choose to pay using a credit card, the Billing and Shipping Information page will open. Complete the required information and please do not use hyphens or spaces when entering your credit card number. Enter the number like this: 1111222233334444. Then click the “Complete Check Out” button below, and you will be brought to a Thank You screen. A receipt will automatically be emailed to you, and your order will be processed and shipped to you. PLEASE DO NOT CLICK THE "Complete Check Out" BUTTON MORE THAN ONCE - this will result in duplicate charges to your credit card. Should this occur, duplicate charges will be refunded, and refund receipts will be enclosed with your shipment.
We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover Card and American Express for online payment. You may use your debit card as well, as long as it is linked to Visa or MasterCard. As specified by Merchant Services for Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express, your Billing Information must match the address at which you receive the bill or statement for the credit card you are using to make your purchase. This is for security purposes, and allows Merchant Services to verify that your card is not being used fraudulently. Your account is charged at the time of shipping, therefore you must have sufficient funds available to cover your purchase. If an item is on backorder, your account will not be charged until the time of shipment.
